Garden

Chloe is up from her winter hibernation and is again enjoying her back yard.

Planted in April, the broadbeans are now beginning to form pods!!!

Spring

The weather is finally changing and we are finally getting some warm days. The garden is growing quickly and the herbs have been growing well enough to start harvesting for drying. Chloe on the other hand simply enjoys trotting around the yard and basking in the sun.

The purple carrots are ready and are juicy and very sweet. I was able to harvest thyme, sage and rosemary, whilst the marjoram will be havested later next week for the Thanksgiving turkey stuffing.

In the back, back garden

We were in the back garden where the landscaping is how nature has constructed it. The house side of the creek, where the photo was taken, is rather steep; however the other side, in the photo, has a semi-level section which is where I would like to create a garden room. The down side is that it will require a lot of work because there is lots of scrub which will need to be removed. I would also consider fencing the area so that our terrier can roam somewhat freely without running off.

The creek.
A torrent in the heavy rain,
A trickle through the winter, and
A dry bed in the summer.

Violet

I had to try the violet powdered food colouring.

Guinness Cake Macarons

With a few tweeks and a bit more practice these will soon become my signature macarons.
