First time lucky?

I recently discovered a lovely French dessert, the macaron, on a trip to Sydney. I was seduced by the textures and depth of flavor. Now I am on a quest to find this quality of macaron in Adelaide...

So far, no luck.

These are the bench mark macarons.



The above two photos show ones that were ok, but far from the bench mark.



So, what does one do when in need of a fix?
I made my own passion fruit macarons. They were rather good for a first attempt.
